When I first learned Ashley Jones's book was about cast iron cookware and the how-to's of cooking with this type of cookware, I was surprised at her topic, primarily because of her age. She's a young woman whom I assumed would go for sleek, non-stick pots and pans, not heavy, dull cast iron.Ashley provides the reader an easy-to-read history of cast iron in a conversational style voice. It's easy to picture her sitting at her kitchen table with a cup of coffee regaling a friend with her stories and information.I ordered the book as a wedding gift for my 30-something niece who is nurturing a love of cast iron cooking.
