I bought this Fleck 5600SXT water softener system to replace my original 15 year old Fleck 5600 system. As the original system got older, the water gradually became less soft. Since it happened so slowly, we didn't realize it; now we're back to having soft water again. It took a couple of hours to remove the old system & install this new system; it was the right height for the existing water softener plumbing. I like the Fleck 5600SXT blue LED display compared to the old Fleck 5600 dials. The resin tank was tilted when it was delivered. This is addressed in the 'Frequently Asked Questions' section of the Installation Instructions; it was easy to get the tank re-centered in the bottom black boot. Reading the 'Frequently Asked Questions' section before installation may answer several of your install questions.I had a question about my order and contacted the seller though Amazon. I received a rapid response and solution from them; excellent customer service!Had hard water for awhile that caused stains on plumbing fixtures and appliances. A water test revealed a 7 ppm iron content and an 8 in total hardness. (a water test is essential to determine what softener you will need) I decided to install one myself after getting a few local quotes of $3200 and up to have a softener installed. Still I had a few questions about installation, options and accessories that I would need to install it myself and A Plus Water LLC put me on the right track. Easy to install and set up! Works great, no more water issues!https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004LYN6CU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I'm sure this is a great system, as Flecks are known as being reliable, but I would avoid this seller unless you're 100% comfortable with your ability to DIY this install. Having worked as a systems engineer for 15 years, I'm a technically competent guy. After following the instructions, I started losing my resin. I called Abundant Flow Water Systems twice. They didn't ask me who I was or what product I ordered, and weren't at all helpful. The only guidance they could offer were several things that could be wrong, and that I would just have to take the system apart and figure it out. I know my in/out flows are correct, and the resin isn't going into the house, so I think it's the top basket in the resin tank...oh well, off to figure it out.Update: I emailed the seller for the first time, after calling twice, and things finally started happening. They wanted me perform several disassemblies to make absolutely sure of a few things, but now it looks like they'll finally send me some replacement parts and resin.Yeah no more iron stains. It did have a weird smell a few times in the first couple weeks but paperwork did say it might be that way. Smell is gone and working good.It was so expensive to get our last softener and have it installed through Culligan. I was looking for a cheaper alternative. Our water is hardness 26 GPG, Iron 3.4. This 32,000 grain unit is very basic but adequate for our needs. All softeners are different so we did have to spend a chunk of money to change fitting sizes and such. You can expect that from the beginning. But we still saved a lot of money by doing it ourself. Unit arrived sooner than expected and customer service by Abundant Flow Water Systems was PHENOMENAL. They offered to help beginning to end, When I needed to email them they answered by the end of the day. This unit should last for many, many years. Hopefully, at our age, the last we will have to buy. Good buying experience.I am writing this review after having this water softner installed for about a week. Installation was easy with a plumber friend and programming was SUPER easy. Within a few hours our water in our house which was EXTREMELY hard (20 grains of hardness per gallon + 4 ppm iron) was drinkable!! It's been incredible. We have set it up to a 14 day cycle so we haven't had it gone through the purge cycle or whatever but so far so good!! It was a scary leap of faith ordering this from amazon. Stand-by for updates.Easy to install! I put in at my summer cabin with hard water and high iron! This did the trick works Awesome! Water softener service to install similar one would of been $3000 plus. I did it with plumbing and fitings and a pre fiter for under $700!Didn't reduce rotten egg smellI needed a little bit of tech-support so I contacted the company and they were very helpful and good to deal with. I’ve been using the product for about a week now and it has made a huge difference. Very happy with this purchase.so far so good has not done a backwash yet great arrival time.great support.
