This product was ordered for my wife and was reviewed by her.Unfortunately, I find the Usmooth Infinite Professional Styling Iron very difficult to use. I have medium length thin, fine hair and no matter what I do I have trouble wrapping my hair securely around the barrel. Almost every time it comes loose and falls off. I find it much easier to use a curling iron with a clamp to hold the hair in place. I've watched a number of YouTube videos of other women using the Usmooth Iron to see if I could pick up on some tips for easier use, but they all seem to have difficulty using the device, also. I'll keep practicing with this to see if I can eventually get the hang of it, but when time is of the essence I'll stick with my cheaper, "old-fashioned" curling iron.No, fizz but adds style from straight, wavy, or curly. Simple to use with titanium plates. Here is what I think is the best part...do get my style I don't have to keep the high heat on for an extended time. We all know that high heat damages hair. But, this system has cut my styling heat time in half. That alone saves frayed ends and frizz.This also has an automatic shutoff in case I forget to unplug it.Updated Review: Lowering my stars to 3, especially for a $159 styling iron. I gave this 5 stars at first but it's so frustrating to use sometimes and my results have been inconsistent. If I don't do things exactly a certain way, I get flat parts, or I get crimps in my hair, or some parts wave nicely and some don't. I have a regular styling wand that I wrap my hair strand around that is a FRACTION of the price of this and it garners me consistent waves or 'curls.'It does, however, give me lots of volume no matter what I do. But that's not why I ordered it. I was looking for the beautiful results that my stylist achieved.When I'm pulling down, sometimes I feel as if I'm pulling my hair out from my scalp! I try to point the barrel up and pull and sometimes that works better.Honestly, this is sort of like the girl with the curl from some childhood thing I heard years ago: when it's good it is very very good but when it's bad it is horrid.At $159, well, I'd rather spend that on some quality shampoos and conditioners, like Oribe, and maybe a really quality wand curling iron.I'm just over it at this point. I'll take it with me next time I'm at my stylists and ask her what I'm doing wrong. If she shows me something that changes everything, I'll be back to report that. Otherwise, I'm kind of done.------------------------------This straightener is fine. Its nothing special to me! Especially for the price. It works a tiny bit better than the drug store straightener I already own for a fraction of the price. It does helps my ends from looking super frizzy, but not much more than the one I have already!I have tried on multiple different occasions to curl my hair with this straightener. The results are super inconsistent. Some strands it works and others it does not. I have tried every possible configuration to make it work and it has never gotten any better. No matter what I did, I ended up having to curl half my hair with my curling iron anyway. To top it off, the end (where the two plates meet) gets super hot which is where I preferred to grab it with my second hand to help twist it.I was SUPER impressed with how quickly it heated up. Easily under 30 seconds. I also liked that it has a digital thermometer which you can change to suit your hair needs. However, its just ok and nothing special to me so those pros do not outweigh the cons in my opinion.My hairstylist has had an iron like this for a while, and I have been wanting one for a long time. She told me she thinks it's faster and easy to use. Unlike a regular curling iron, there is no clamping, and unlike the irons without a clamp that you have to twirl your hair around, this has two parallel plates, and you put your hair between the plates and either drag it down or twist to curl. I think my stylist is right; this is quick and easy. I'm so glad I finally have one. Please note that Amazon sells another brand of iron like this at a $120 price point. That's the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.Lightweight with a swivel cord. It has 4 different heat settings. I did find it easy to use but you do have to use smaller pieces of hair as it doesn't open and the opening is very thin. So it would take a little more time than usual depending on your hair length. I did two different curls and they came good. You only need one hand to curl your hair instead of two. The reason for 4 stars is mainly because you can only curl small portions at a time. But if you're doing a different hairstyle it would work too.Nope this isn't for me. It's going to stay in storage. I tried it a few times and never could get the style I was looking for, it's too weird to use for me. I also need the highest heat to get my hair to do anything, at least 450, this only goes to 430 which doesn't cut it. In my opinion this helps nothing, just get a good straightener.This infinite styling iron is a beautiful thing. It IS indeed a special tool!If you're in need of a flat iron dont get this one, get their other one. This one won't make you happy. But if you want to smooth your hair, or curl your hair, or get beachy waves in your hair, this tool will make you happy ?This doesn't clamp down. The plates don't open, the tension is decided and permanent you have no control over that (which is why you won't like this if you're main goal is to only straighten your hair).Because of this, you're hair will never have clamp marks. But you also have to work with much much smaller and thinner sections of hair. Set aside additional time for this.Using this to curl could not be easier. The beachy waves took me a while, theres a learning curve and specific rocking technique you have to master. Straightening my hair wasn't fun, I dont like this when used as a straightener but in a pinch I would. This tool can replace 3, so if you do traveling this is a good choice for you. My hairstylist friend really likes this one.
