I purchased this silicone iron rest for my 92 year young Mom. She used one similar to this years ago that was made of metal.I bought her this as a safety precaution where she can lie her iron flat instead of standing the iron up where it could easily topple over. This Household Essentials gives me a bit more confidence in her wanting, rather insisting, to do the ironing at her age.The pad itself was an "Amazon Choice" and I can see why. It's nice and thick and has a textured surface that is simpler to prevent the iron from slipping. It's generous in size and should fit all standard irons.
