I've been using them for her for a while now and we are almost through the whole bottle. They do have a metallic taste but it's not bad at all. If you have a very picky child it may be a problem, but maybe not. My daughter is kind of picky but still takes these easily.I wish they were a little higher in iron then they are at only 5mg I think 8mg would be better from the research I've done.Either way I'm very happy to have an iron supplement she will take easily.I taste tested the NutriBear Iron Jellies and thought they tasted fruity and great. My 9 year old thought they were ok. I know they are better tasting than Flinstones chewable with iron. The Nutribear iron jellies have the consistency of soft gum drops, not gummy bears. They are coated with some crystals to prevent them from sticking and we have had no issues with stickiness. The Vitamin Friends iron gummies are very very similar in size and consistency except they taste like strawberry. I think you can't go wrong with either brand.I found these to be impressive. Iron is not a yummy taste, difficult the find something my kids da will take. These almost melt in your mouth. They aren’t real chewy like gummy bears, just a soft candy like vitamin. My one son won’t take these but he is awfully picky. The other takes it no problem. So with kids it’s hit or miss but I tried it and it’s defin not bad tasting, I think the texture just would take getting used to because it isn’t exactly what you expectMy 2 year old was told to increase his iron and he HATED the taste of all liquid supplements. It was a struggle. He could even taste the liquid when disguised in juice. He loves these and would eat more. I also like that they are vegetarian and do not contain gelatin. The great flavor is almost a downside, as they taste so good that you have to be very aware they are medicine and iron can be toxic, so only use the doctor recommended amount - even though they look and taste like "candy" (obvious advice, I realize, but my son hasn't figured out they are not treats and I often worry about encouraging good flavored drugs for children). But the important aspect is he eats them and is getting his iron supplement without a struggle!I bought these for my five-year-old son, who is anemic. We have been using iron drops for a little over a year pretty unsuccessfully. Every time he saw the liquid coming it was a battle. These are little gummy bears covered in sugar, they aren't his absolute favorite thing in the world, but we aren't having the problems taking the iron anymore. Now to see if this raises his iron up enough that we can wean him off it. I am a big fan of this product as it has made my life easier. We have already tried Trivisol for our doctor`s recommendation and that was awful. Then Polyvisol with iron (just for the iron) and I really don`t know which was worse but I threw that away too. This is the best option so far to add some extra iron into my baby`s diet.I tried one and it tastes like iron so the sugar coating is very unnecessary it does not change the flavor.Iron pills are simply difficult. If you swallow them whole, they hurt your stomach, if you chew them, they taste like blood. In this case, the makers of NutriBear Iron Jellies managed to mask the flavor so that you can chew them - to a point. If you chew them for any longer than a few seconds, the iron/blood taste comes out. So I normally chew them about ten times and then swallow them mostly whole because blood is not a flavor/smell I adore. Still, these are the ONLY iron supplements I have found to date that both mask the flavor and don't hurt my stomach. So, kudos and five stars. Now I'm not anemic. Our young son was iron deficient, but getting him to take the children's vitamins with iron was very difficult because he couldn't have a "full" Flinstones iron vitamin so they had to be cut; which gave them no chance to mask the iron taste. After going to the vitamin shoppe and finding nothing that worked, I looked online and found these gummies. My son really likes the taste of these and after insisting I take one too, I can attest that these do not have that iron taste to them.We are already on our our second bottle and we'll be ordering more soon.
