The knife is quite heavy. It feels like it's mostly metal (to make it that heavy). It feels very solid. There is a hole for a lanyard but you cannot use it because the tip of the blade swings right through that area. Seems like a design oversight to me. That's why only 4 stars. I'm a little uncomfortable with having to unlock the extended blade by pushing the locking feature to one side with my thumb right where the blade will end up and then starting to swing the blade closed and get my thumb out of the way. So far I've not caught myself. The blade has a knob near the base that you can use to flick out the blade and with the spring assist, it opens very fast. But it's not officially a switch blade because the spring does not start the motion. You use your thumb for that. It has a metal beltclip, but being so heavy, I don't like to have it on my belt, so I put it in my pocket. The color is nice , very easy to hold & open.Bought for a christmas present for my step dad as he is a former marine and for some reason he doesn't have a EDC or even a pocket knife and apparently hasn't had one in years! This thing does have a nice weight and strong beautiful finish to it. The blade is pretty sharp, but if it was for me I would sharpen it more as I'm ocd about not sharpening my own knives. (I sharpen all my knives no matter from who or how sharp they are when just bought. Even bought a few Ken Onions Kershaws and sharpened them. Then again I sharpen my knifes about once a wk. just my ocd.) I am greatly impressed with this knife and am tempted to purchase another like it for myself once Christmas has finished draining all my money lol. For the price, you can't beat it. Should any issues arise from future use from my step dad I shall change my rating, but as of now I approve of this beautiful piece of metal.I am a return customer and this is my third knife. Good blade, nice quality, and very durable. Fits my hand perfectly and easy to open, but still safe.PROsNice lookingVery durableEasy to open but safeCONSNone that I can see, have had 2 other blades and they are still working great12/23/2017:Bought a 4th one as an exchange gift for a marine and he loves it! Will definitely buy more in the future!03/10/2021I keep buying these! All as gifts or for myself, to EDC and for other kits. Maybe I should just go ahead and buy a box of 20 because I like these so much. It's a pretty big knife, and it's definitely got some heft to it, but it's sturdy and the blade seems fairly sharp. The pictures make it look smaller than it is, but other than that it looks exactly like the pictures. The spring assist works well, though the tab on the back hurts when you press on it to open it, it takes a little strength to open it. Overall I am very happy with it. Only thing I am displeased with is how slow it was to get here, it took a while.I abuse the heck out of this knife, and it just keeps on keeping on. I got it because I wanted a "vehicle rescue tool" with the strap cutter and glass breaker point, but didn't want it in bright orange, and didn't want to pay $30 for this. Added bonus is the heft, this thing weighs more than a lot of the pocket knives being produced recently. This is actually my second of these knives-what can I say? I like to use to abuse the heck out of my knives and get rid of them. Well worth the money, both times. This knife is kept in the car as an emergency tool. In a pinch I would use it as a defensive weapon, but only after the FPF has been used. This along with the Gerber multi that I keep in the glove box will get me out of or into just about anything related to my vehicle. Best Feature: The affixed Marine Corps Emblem...Worst Feature: the grip is a little slick with wet or sweaty hands. Every Jarhead should have one just because.Pretty good knife, it has a sharp blade right out of the package. Used it for about 3 weeks straight and it did pretty well but one screw did come loose but I tightened it back up. The frame also scratches easily so that’s something to be aware of.
