I think this would have been a great iron had I had more bulk to my baby fine hair. Sadly when I'd take smaller sections to curl, it didn't close tight enough to be as effective as I'd like. I saw others comment on this prior to buying but thought I'd try anyhow. Lol. They were right. The two plates don't close tightly. Now if I had thicker or coarser hair, maybe this would be a moot point so for that reason, I'm not gonna penalize this company by giving it zero stars or a crappy review. I do want to be honest though for all the thin or baby fine hair gals. This might not be the best fit for you. I did like how it would curl the hair, but In order for it to really work for me I basically had to put in a quarter of my hair to get the two plates to grip my hair and have just 4 curls wasn't doing it for me, lol. Don't get me wrong, this sounds like I have very little hair, that's not the case, I have a lot, it's just super soft baby fine hair. Bummer it didn'tThis is the best hair appliance. It’s a one stop shop, straighten or curl all in one. The only negative is that there is a learning curve but once you get it, it rocks. The first time I used it I looked like Shirley Temple lol but now I get the curl I like. It is a must purchaseTotally works on your hair I have very frizzy curly hair and kept it amazingly straight. All my friends thought I had it professionally straightenedLove the cord, no tangle, love that there's velcro for the cord love the pad and storage for it. Only thing I don't care for is when you're straightening, you only get a portion of the iron to use to keep it straight. And it does not clamp down very hard feel like it runs roughly through my hair.It is fairly easy to use. It heats up very nicely. I like how it curls better than how it straightens. I didn't rate it on travel because I haven't used it traveling yet.This curler is great!! It gives beautiful curls without drying out my hair. It’s easy to use and love the spiral curling. I highly recommend this product.I have short, curly hair. My other flatiron just straightens and smooths my hair, so I was hoping this one would give me smooth curls. If you try to hold them together, they rip your hair out.I've been using curling irons and flat irons for over 20 years-and this is the first I found that offers both options in one unit. The only reason I don't give it a 5 Star rating is I can see what other reviewers say about the buttons being right where your fingers are as you are working. My fingers tend to hit the heat up button all the time-but I use it at full heat anyway-so the worst is the clicking I get as I work. Other than that-I've used it for over a week to learn how to curl. I have past shoulder length layered hair and it works to straighten and curl-although the curls on longer hair do end up like spiral curls - it's a bit of a trick the get lateral curl result-but I'm sure I need more practice. As for people saying the style didn't last through the day-that's the same with all irons-you might have to use a little hair spray as your naturally straight hair will drop the curls in humidity as curly hair straightened with curl naturally in humidity. And finally an iron with a safe cool tip for your fingers as you work. I DO recommend this iron!
