It’s a high temp sponge. You get it wet, it stays wet for some time then you get it wet again. It does what a sponge does. Of all the soldering station sponges that I’ve known through the many years this sponge has lived up to my highest expectations of what a sponge should do: hold moisture. It does this thankless job with great pride and dedication. Many of these sponges have given their existence to my ham-fisted use of them and will be deeply missed. RIP old sponges, I knew thee well.
